Perdue/Pardue/Purdue y-DNA Project Update

Perdue/Pardue y-DNA Project Update 25 March 2011

The following  http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/perdue/results  links to the latest update of the Perdue/Pardue/Purdue y-DNA Project.

After decades of research on the lines of Richard Perdue who died in Montgomery County, Tennessee in 1811 and whose sons and grandchildren moved into Illinois and Indiana, and unable to effectively connect him to the Richard Perdue in the family of eleven sons of John Pardue who died in 1769 in Bute County, North Carolina, DNA submitted by descendants of Richard demonstrates that Richard belongs to the Appomattox River Pardue/Perdue family and was the very probably Richard the son of John Pardue who died in 1769 in Bute County, North Carolina.  Unfortunately, the submitter did not provide a patrilineal history of the line of decent.

Once again, y-DNA testing has narrowed place and names in the search for ancestors and as time continues and the DNA research results become more established, DNA tests will continue to be a valuable research tool!

Genealogy is never done; it is always a work in progress!

My gggrandfather was William Simpson Pardue Sr. who was b. in Chesterfield County, VA on 28 March 1760 and died in Lancaster District 1 May 1844. It's highly unlikely that 2 WIlliam Pardues would have been born on the very same day in the same county and died in the same manner. I also checked the deed of Joseph did not have William listed as a son. I came upon his name a few minutes ago in the geneological list as Joseph Pardue's son. Please dbl. check this as I have mounds of proof that I am correct. Phyllis A. Pardue Wilson

Hi, Phyllis,

Sorry, if I am a little confused...your comments posted to the Perdue/Pardue y-DNA Project Update, which mentioned a Richard Pardue.

If I posted anything on this site that states or infers that your ancestor, William Pardue, was the son of a Joseph Pardue, I would very appreciate your pointing out to me where it appears so that I might correct it.

There are far too many errors out there on the early Pardue family history as it is and I certainly do not want to add to them, so please let me know where you saw it on this site.

Thanks,
Ann Pardue
